In light of the events of yesterday, I felt like I should put down some thoughts.
This clan is, above all, about having fun and being hack free, while not being too serious about the game.
That's it. It can't be cut any simpler or made any easier to understand.
The first "meltdown" came when Bambino came up with some ideas to help streamline and "wrangle" the clan, so to speak. His ideas made sense, so we set about implementing them. Something happened...truthfully, I forget what...and he elected to leave. He was a rather charismatic leader, and as such took a lot of our members with him to do their own thing. Serrecko and I wondered if that was pretty much it for our clan.
We decided it wasn't, and pressed on.
So here we are again. Another charismatic leader had come forth with ideas, we decided to implement them, and something happened. Enalis decided to leave, and has drawn some people with him, and others have decided to leave to do their own thing.
Thus is the ebb and flow of this thing of ours.
We're still here. We're still soldiering on. We're still playing nade volleyball, we're still doing smoke and law, we're still doing tacticals.
There's no hard feelings towards Enalis, or, for the most part, almost anyone else. There's only a few people who are "kick on sight", and those are for horrendous reasons (such as hacking passwords). Enalis was, as was pointed out, banned from the forum to protect the backend of the clan structure. He had a lot more access than possibly even he realized. Was it harsh? Given that a good chunk of us work in the computer field, it's standard operating procedure to us. When someone quits (or is terminated), they're escorted out...either by the supervisor if it's amicable, or security if it's not. It could be that we're just desensitized to it, but I'd rather have one (or a handful) of people pissed at me or any other General than let the bulk of the membership down when the website suddenly went away, or all the forum posts were mysteriously deleted.
He, and everyone else, is welcome back if and when they decide they want to come back. They may never come back. Who knows.
The one thing I do know, however, is that we're still here, and we'll continue to be here, as long as there's people who want hack-free, retarded fun.
