The only one I'd expect you not to know off of that list would be the C4D one. The others are just common sense. I usually use an artistic/freestyle kind of work in my sigs. Dark and grim is dark and with evil/etc implications. Textured metal is a image that has a background of something that looks like metal with a texture applied to make it look more real, usually with a character/whatever sticking out in front. Full color smudge sigs.... I guess sorta like mine, just more random and less centered on one image. Lots of the smudge tool used. Cartoony is just cartoon/chibi characters used, usually with a light, indistinct background. C4D's are images created in 3D soft ware (I think) that are openable in photoshop and used to create the abstract type of background. I can't verily say since I haven't used it often.
