Shanked157’s Guide to Foruming

This guide is to help member and recruits to become familiar and be able to post more on the forums.

When I first joined the gaggle all the “new post” kind of scared me, I was thinking really I have to read all this?! So I never really wanted to read the forums.  Then I found a button that helped me tremendously the “mark all as read” button.  Also collapsing certain parts of the forum makes it smaller and easier to read.  If you’re in a hurry and can’t get to everything the “last 50 posts button” helps a lot in this situation.

Doing this showed me that there isn’t a lot of post made a day and that it isn’t impossible to read all the post.  It doesn’t take long to read the forums and you don’t have to read every post, but it does help.  When you post on the forums keep it on topic and be polite.  The admins aren’t going to send you to exiles and make a fool of you (unless you’re just an asshat), but it is really important to stay active in the forums.

Most of all the important events, announcements, and information are found on the forums. Sometimes I have noticed that some people ask questions all over vent and the number one answer has been “go look on the forums.”  They’re right usually when something important happens it is posted on the forums.  So before you spam vent go check the forums.

To have a great time with the gaggle I think it is just as important to forum as it is to get on vent.  Don’t be discouraged about someone else’s post count.  Once you get rolling on the forums it gets really fun.  You learn a lot more about the other members then what you do in-game.  Being on the forums gains you respect in the clan.
The main thing is don’t freak out, the forums are not a scary place.  It’s a fun and great place to learn about the other members and get yourself known.   I hope that you can get more active and post on the forums who knows maybe we can break the old records from last year.

Also as it is important to stay on our forums you should also try your best to keep the GaggleofNoobs 2010 recruitment thread alive on the nexon forums and tell about why the gaggle is fun and why you joined.

Well written Shanked, I'm impressed!!

The biggest thing that I can't stress enough is "most information that someone needs to know is probably in the forums"

Read it, know it, live it....
